Event Details

Vision+Media invite you to the Contemporary Urban Centre, Liverpool for an evening of discussion, drinks and demos centred on Apple's new iPad.

Speakers include Katie Lips, founder of Little World Gifts, talking about iPad trends and offering predictions for the platform in 2010-11, and Dave Verwer, from Shiny Development, talking about UI design and some of the less obvious ways in which the iPad differs from the iPhone.

Hayden Scott-Baron of Starfruit Games will also be speaking. Hayden is an independent developer and creator of the IGF nominated game 'Tumbledrop' for iPhone, and he will talk about the opportunities introduced by the new iPad platform, the introduction of the tablet form-factor, and the challenges of designing games well suited to this unique interface.

Joining these speakers will be several other developers for a Q&A session following the talks, including Director of Spinning Head Software, Claire Rogers; developer John McKerrell, and Don McAllister from popular Mac tutorial site Screencasts Online. As well as having such experienced developers on hand, we'll also have some production units for you to try out yourselves.

Doors open for drinks at 18:00, and at 19:00 we'll go into the cinema for the talks and Q&A sessions.

Vision+Media exists to help grow the digital and creative industry in the North West of England. We do this by delivering projects and programmes that help creative companies and individuals (at all levels) in TV, Radio, PublishingMusicGames, Film and Digital and Creative services. We help productions find locations and staff in the region. And we also support creativity and culture e.g. film festivals and archives.
